What can I use instead of butter paper in baking?

If you don’t have butter paper, a simple alternative is to grease your baking tray or pan with oil, butter, or cooking spray. For cakes or brownies, you can also dust the greased pan with a little flour to prevent sticking.

Another good option is aluminum foil. It works well for lining trays or pans, especially for roasting or baking cookies. Just make sure to grease the foil lightly, as food can stick to it if left dry.

A reusable silicone baking mat is also a great substitute. It's non-stick, heat-resistant, and perfect for baking cookies, pastries, or bread without the need for extra greasing.

Avoid using wax paper in the oven, as it can catch fire. It’s only suitable for wrapping or storing food at room temperature or in the fridge, not for baking.
